Today I decided to jot down a few notes on what to do if you see your MLM earnings slipping.
1. Ask For Advice
Email the smartest people you know for advice. A quick 2 to 3 sentence email meant it wouldn’t take long for them to respond (whenever you email busy people, keep your questions short and direct). The overall response you’ll receive will be amazing, and got you thinking about your industry, products, compensation plan and traffic in different ways than you had before. In my experience, entrepreneurs go out of their way to help other entrepreneurs – so don’t be shy to ask for help!

2. Become An MLM SPY
When was the last time you checked out your MLM competitors site’s to see what they were doing? You may find it interesting to see what they are up to. Looking at their capture pages, Facebook ads and other marketing strategies, you will be able to get some new ideas you could implement and test on your own MLM projects.
3. Split Test
It’s simple: If you split test different elements on your MLM capture pages, you WILL IMPROVE conversion rates. Do it.
4. Take a Break
Take a day and unplug from the internet. You may feel as though the world has ended however the last time I did this I managed to fill 2 notepads with ideas on how to improve my MLM business.
5. Network
Network with others in the MLM industry via Twitter, Facebook and Email. Networking, collaborating and sharing ideas with others is a sure way to get your creative juices flowing!
6. Create Multiple Streams of Income
Diversify your revenue streams as much as possible. This could also be said for traffic sources. This is hard to do for most MLM people due to them listening way to close to their close-minded upline, but one that is worth paying attention too.
7. Think Outside of the Box
This is a must for any MLM business; innovation really does separate you from your MLM competition, and when executed properly, will bring a whole bunch of other benefits such as viral marketing, market share and quality leads/traffic.
8. Forget About Emotions
Most MLM business owners grow emotionally attached to their MLM business. I’m no different. I put 5-years into building a MLM downline only to see it be pulled out from underneath me. The first 1-1/2 years were great but the last 3-1/2 years were the biggest pain in my @$$ I had ever experienced in business. I knew after the first year and a half that it was time to move on to more profitable ventures but due to being hard-headed I stuck it out for another 3-1/2 years. Those 3-1/2 years caused me at least $2-million – OUCH!!! Live and learn!
9. Don’t Quit… Yet
It can be really tough to pivot when you’ve been eating at the same table for a while. I remember one company I was with that promoted old-school hotel meetings. I would see the same people week after week at these mlm hotel meetings and they would NEVER have a prospect. I saw some of these MLM people for close to 5-years sit in the same seat and laugh at the same cheesy MLM jokes told from the stage. Come on folks, sometimes you need to move on to something else. After all, if your upline is sincere with you most of them will admit that their current company is not their first rodeo.
The bottomline is you do not owe anything to anyone except to you and your family. Your upline is not paying your bills so why feel a sense of commitment to them. Trust me; if something better and more profitable comes around they will be quick to jump on it. And if you don’t believe me then I challenge you to stick in your same spot for the next 1-2 years and see where you are at!

Facebook , is crucial to the promotion of any serious website. But is Facebook promotion worth it?
Almost certainly. With access to more than 500 million users, a reported value of more than $50 billion, and an ongoing buzzworthiness that never seems to falter, Facebook offers network marketers an invaluable resource for connecting with mlm downline, potential customers as well as future downline members.
The Facebook development team has also made it easy for webmasters to publicize their sites. Back in the MySpace days, unless you were a musician, you were pretty much forced to create a separate MySpace account to promote a business. Not so with Facebook , which gives all users the ability to create a unique page dedicated to their business or promotion.
But despite the ease of creating a page for your business or promotion, there’s still the matter of manpower. How can you find the time to maintain your website while still updating your Facebook page and keeping things fresh?
You’ve got options. Here are some of my favorites:
Recently acquired by Twitter , TweetDeck is a desktop-based application that lets you update multiple social-media pages from the same control panel, all at once. TweetDeck also integrates easily with Facebook . That means you can update your Facebook page (or pages) from one place.
This is my favorite TweetDeck , Ping.fm is a free online service that lets you update multiple social media feeds from the same online panel. The major difference between Ping.fm and TweetDeck is that Ping.fm is a web-based interface, meaning that you’ll have to keep a browser open to Ping.fm . Ping.fm even has an iPhone app which I use quite often.
The advantage to being able to post to multiple social networks at the same time is obvious – IT SAVES YOU A TON OF TIME

OUCH… Pre-Paid Legal has just released their financials for 2010 and the 4th quarter results are not looking good at all.
Take a look for yourself…
With the recent news that New York-based private equity firm MidOcean has merged (aka bought out) Ada, Oklahoma-based Pre-Paid Legal Services I don’t see much of a future for the MLM part of PPL. I predict that the MLM division will cease to exist within the next 18-36 months. I predicted a merger back in October of 2010 on Facebook and had dozens of people say I was crazy.
I can only imagine how many of the Platinums (I was previously part of that group) are looking for an exit strategy. Publicly they are talking like everything is roses & sunshine but behind closed doors these leaders are freaking out.

Max International, a Utah based MLM company has agreed to pay $1.2 million to Idaho Falls-based Melaleuca to settle a lawsuit over allegations it poached employees and urged them to breach contracts.
Max International was sued by Melaleuca in fall 2009, who contended Max International raided its marketing executives (aka, mlm distributors) and then conspired to have those former Downline members breach their contracts with the company by recruiting other mlm sales people.
Melaleuca sells about over 300 nutritional and household products including lotions, detergents and powdered drinks. Max International sells similar products and uses a similar business model.
The settlement was reported by a story published Sunday in the Post Register.
“Our actions here were vindicated, and the outcome says the actions we tried to seek against Max International were finally realized,” Melaleuca President McKay Christensen told the newspaper. “We think Max took the right actions here in settling the case, and we’re pleased to have a positive outcome.”
Max co-CEOs, Joseph Voyticky and David Bagley, apologized to the Idaho company, saying it “deeply regrets any actions, if any, by its officers, employees or associates that contributed to any contract violations by former Melaleuca (sales agents).”
Melaleuca President McKay Christensen said that, as a condition of the settlement, Max International officials agreed to honor Melaleuca’s contracts and nonsolicitation agreements.
In January 2010, a federal judge temporarily barred Max International from recruiting employees at Melaleuca, which has been in operation for 25 years.
At that time, U.S. District Judge William Downes said Melaleuca convinced him that the company was likely to succeed on the merits of its claims.
In 2008, Melaleuca employed about 3,400 and pulled in $879 million in revenue. Its marketing executives (aka, mlm distributors) earn commissions on customer sales or by training and motivating other sales staff in gathering new customers.
The marketing executives are also required to maintain an extensive database of customer contact information and other sales executives they support; Melaleuca considers the database to be a trade secret.

While the government is reporting that unemployment is at a 2-year low industry experts say the ‘real’ unemployment numbers are 17.3% and men ages 18-21 the unemployment numbers are an unbelievable 44%!!!
